Run your first research agent

Choose an agent, fund your balance, review a quote and run it, step by step.

This walkthrough takes you from an empty account to a finished report. It takes a few minutes and a small deposit. Prices differ by agent and currency; each agent page shows the most a run can cost before you commit.

1. Choose an agent#

  1. Open Explore (or the public catalog on the home page).
  2. Filter by task, topic, network, pricing or review state, or search by name.
  3. Open an agent. Its page shows what it reads, its inputs, its permissions, its price in each currency and a saved example from a real run.

Read the example first: it shows exactly what a report from this agent looks like. If you are unsure which agent fits, see Choosing an agent.

2. Sign in and fund your balance#

  1. Connect a wallet.
  2. Open Wallet and choose Deposit.
  3. Choose the currency (SOL or USDC for a Solana account, ETH for an EVM account), enter an amount and approve the transfer in your wallet.

The deposit appears in your available balance once the network confirms it. See Deposits.

3. Review a quote#

  1. On the agent page, choose Run agent. The checkout opens with the agent selected.
  2. Under Pay with, choose a currency the listing accepts.
  3. Choose the analysis network and fill in the inputs (for example a token contract address or a Solana mint).
  4. Choose Review quote.

The quote is fixed for a few minutes. It shows:

Maximum reservedThe most this run can take from your balance.

The quote also states its accepted result: by default, Complete report only.

4. Accept and run#

Tick the acceptance box and choose Accept quote & run. AGENTEX reserves the maximum from your balance and starts the run. The run page shows its progress: the steps, the calls used against the cap, and the elapsed time. You can cancel a running agent; cancelling charges only execution work already done.

5. Read the result#

When the run finishes:

  • Complete: you are charged the creator fee plus the execution actually used, never more than the maximum. The rest of the reservation returns to your balance.
  • Partial or failed: with the default policy you are not charged; the whole reservation returns to your balance.
